Trübe Zeit
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG FRE
Nun streichen die friedlosen Winde
So scheu durchs Land,
Nun liegen die Blätter der Rosen
So fahl im Sand.
Und was er von Treue gesprochen
Zur Frühlingszeit,
Das wanderte fort mit den Winden,
Ach weit, so weit.
Es hallen die Glocken vom Thurme --
Wie klingts so schwer,
Als ob eine sündige Seele
Gestorben wär.

Jours troubles
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Aujourd'hui les vents inquiets effleurent
Timidement le pays,
Aujourd'hui les pétales de roses gisent
Décolorés dans le sable.
Et ce qu'il a dit de la fidélité
Au printemps,
S'est envolé avec les vents,
Loin, hélas, si loin.
Les cloches du campanile résonnent --
Leur son est accablant,
Comme si une âme pécheresse
Était morte.
