La terra che un fiore, che un frutto mi dà.

Dovunque il destino m'addita un sentiero,
Io trovo un sorriso, io trovo un amor;
Perchè del passato darommi pensiero,
Se l'ora presente è lieta al mio cor?

Può, è vero, il domani un torbido velo
Dell'aure serene l'aspetto turbar;
Ma s'oggi risplende azzurro il mio cielo,
Perchè rattristarmi d'un dubbio avvenir?

Io sono una pianta che ghiaccio non spoglia,
Che tutto disfida del verno il rigor;
Se fronda qui cade, là un'altra germoglia,
In ogni stagione son carca di fior.

Qui fou el meu pare, quina és la meva pàtria,
en va la gent em pregunta;
del primer, mai n'he sabut res i és pàtria meva
la terra que una flor, que un fruit em dóna.

Arreu on el destí m'assenyala un camí,
jo trobo un somriure, trobo un amor;
per què hauria de pensar en el passat
si l'hora present m'omple el cor de joia?

Podria, és veritat, demà un tèrbol vel
torbar el caire de l'aura serena,
però si avui l'atzur del meu cel resplendeix,
per què entristir-me per un futur incert?

Jo sóc una planta que el gel no desfulla,
que repta en escreix el rigor de l'hivern;
si aquí cau una branca, allà en rebrota una altra,
tot l'any estic carregada de flors.
