Wie herrlich klingt ein frisches Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie herrlich klingt ein frisches Lied
In stillen Waldesräumen,
Wenn [ringsumher]1 es grünt und blüht
In Sträuchern und in Bäumen.
Wie blau der Himmel, lau die Luft,
[Wie]2 heiter lacht die Sonne,
Und [tausendfacher Blumenduft]3
Erfüllt das Herz mit Wonne!4

Dann kommen all' die Vögelein
Herbei mit leichten Schwingen,
Um ihre lust'gen Melodei'n
Laut jubelnd drein zu singen.
Es neigt der Baum sein grünes Dach
Mit heimlich [sanftem]5 Rauschen,
[Und gleich]6 den [Blumen]7 an dem Bach,
[Möcht' er den Liedern]8 lauschen! 4

Fürwahr, ein frischer, froher Sang
An waldumkränzter Quelle
Ertönt wie ferner Glockenklang
Aus stiller [Waldkapelle]9.
Mit Andacht füllet sich die Brust,
Das Herz möcht' fast zerspringen:
O wunderselig ist die Lust,
Im grünen [Wald]10 zu singen! 4
