Indisches Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the English
Our translations:  FIN
Ich erwach’ aus Träumen von dir
im ersten Schlummer der Nacht,
wenn die Winde flüstern im Laub,
und die Sterne schimmern voll Pracht.
Ich erwach’ aus Träumen von dir,
und ein magischer Zauber
trieb meine Schritte mit stürmender Hast
zu deinem Fenster, mein Lieb.

Die Lüfte schweigen so bang
auf dem stillen und dunklen Strom;
wie ein lieblicher Traum verweht
der Champakblüten Arom;
der Nachtigall Klagelied
erstirbt in ihrer Brust,
wie ich in dir vergehe,
du mein Leben, meine Lust!

O, hebe mich empor!
Ich sterb’, ich verschmachte hier!
Auf Lippen und Augen
laß deine Küsse regnen mir!
Meine Wang’ ist bleich und kalt,
wild stürmisch pocht die Brust!
O schließ mein Herz an deins,
wo es brechen wird vor Lust!

Intialainen laulu
Language: Finnish (Suomi)  after the German (Deutsch)
Uneksin Sinusta ja havahdun
yön ensimmäisestä uinahduksesta,
kun tuulet kuiskivat lehvästössä,
ja tähdet hohtavat täydessä loistossaan.
Uneksin Sinusta ja havahdun
ja maaginen taikavoima
pakotti minut myrskynä rientämään
ikkunasi ääreen, oma rakkaani.

Tuulet vaikenevat arkoina
tyynen ja tumman virran yllä;
suloisen unen lailla hajoaa
Champaka–kukkien tuoksu ilmaan.
Satakielen valituslaulu
kuolee sen rintaan,
samalla tavalla minä hajoan sinuun,
elämäni, onneni!

Voi! Nosta minut ylös!
Minä kuolen, minä riudun täällä!
Anna suudelmiesi sataa
huulilleni ja ja silmilleni!
Poskeni on kalpea ja kylmä,
Sydän sykkii villin myrskyisästi!
Paina sydämeni sydäntäsi vasten,
siinä se pakahtuu onnesta!
