Komm, lieber Mai, und mache
Die Bäume wieder grün,
Und lass uns an dem Bache
Die kleinen Veilchen blühn!

Wie möchten wir so gerne
Ein Blümchen wieder sehn,
Und in die frische Ferne,
Ins grüne Freie gehen.

Komm, mach es bald gelinder,
Dass alles wieder blüht!
Dann wird das Flehn der Kinder
Ein lautes Jubellied.

O komm und bring vor allen
Uns viele Rosen mit!
Bring auch viel Nachtigallen
Und schöne Kuckucks mit!

Ritorna amato maggio
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Ritorna amato maggio
rinverdisci le piante
fai fiorire le viole
ai bordi del torrente!

Come sarebbe bello
vedere sbocciare un fiore,
nel verde e all’aria aperta
tornare a passeggiare.

Affrettati, sii gentile
che fiorisca ogni cosa!
Canteranno di gioia
I bambini in attesa.

Ritorna, e soprattutto
con le rose di maggio,
il canto dei cuculi,
di usignoli il gorgheggio.
