Les yeux, souris, et vois, d'un battement si faible, 
Mes cils mouillés répondre à ton sourire pâle.

Dis-moi : Je t'aime, encor. Je t'aime, et puis ne parle 
Plus ; les mots font mal à ceux qui vont mourir. Laisse 
Ta gorge se gonfler sur mon coeur, à mes lèvres 
Laisse ta main qui tremble en essuyant des larmes.

Tristement, âprement, nos bouches s'enveloppent 
Dans un dernier baiser surhumain qui sanglote. 
Et maintenant, adieu, tout est fini. Silence.

Une feuille en tombant fait ombre sur la lune. 
Des pas. Un souffle d'air. Et le calme nocturne 
Est si pur, si profond, que nos âmes s'entendent.
