Sovint hem segut a beure vi i més sovint encara grog. Entretant, la jaqueta del diumenge era a casa del prestador. Hem intercanviat les més divertides històries de noies, i hem begut de valent per a l’aventura i els poemes. Ens hem queixat, ai las, dels nostres deutes, ens hem gastat en begudes fins l’últim florí: sense acovardir-nos! Sempre ens hem trobat, encara que el temps fos dolent, i si els horribles núvols desapareixien, encara era millor. Som com dues cireres a la mateixa cua, un cant a dues veus, un cànon que de Bach a Klengel ningú ha pogut encara assolir. Som dos brivalls. Si ens atrapen aquests jutges filisteus, hem de penjar plegats del mateix patíbul, altrament no ho farem pas.
