Flieg' aus mein Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Flieg' aus, mein Lied, und tausend Mal
Grüß mir mein stilles Felsenthal!
Nun grünt und blüht es wieder,
  Und von der Höhn
  Wie blickt so schön
Und frisch der Wald hernieder!

Ihr lieben Vögel, denkt ihr dran,
Wie wir das Thal hinab, hinan
Zusammen einst gesungen,
  Wie von den Flühn
  Durch all das Blühn
Das frohe Lied erklungen!

Ihr weißen Bäume, wißt ihr's noch,
Wie ihr mit mir vom Felsenjoch
Gegrüßt die fernsten Auen,
  Wie blitzend klar
  Und lustig war
Im Grund der Bach zu schauen!

Flieg' aus, mein Lied, und tausend Mal
Grüß mir im Lenz mein trautes Thal,
Und bring' ihm deinen Segen,
  Und thu's ihm kund,
  Wie sein allstund
Ich denk' und allerwegen!

Fly forth, my song
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Fly forth my song, and greet for me
My quiet rocky valley a thousand times!
Now everything is once more growing green and blossoming,
  And from the heights
  How beautifully the forest
Looks down in its freshness!

Ye dear birds, do you remember
How down into and up from the valley
We once sang together?
  How from the rock faces
  Through all the blossoming
Our happy song rang out!

Ye white trees, do you still remember
How from the rocky yokes ye greeted
The most distant meadows with me,
  How sparklingly clear
  An merry it was
To see the brook in the valley!

Fly forth my song, and greet for me
My dear valley in the springtime,
And bring it your blessing,
  And let it know,
  How at every hour
I think of it and shall always do so!
