Vaig marxar el mes de maig i no era conscient de què el meu cor malalt estava colpit per la pena. Un ocell cantava al nou fullatge del bosc, i aviat la seva veu em penetrà dins del cor. Dels meus ulls queia una feixuga rosada de llàgrimes i veia aleshores com el maig onejava a través de la terra i el cel blau. Quan l’ocell deixà de cantar, s’envolà vers una terra llunyana, i quan es perdé el seu cant el maig s’esvaní al meu voltant.
