Žalo děvče, žalo trávu
nedaleko vinohradu.
Pán sa na ňu z okna dívá,
on si na ňu rukú kývá

"Širuj, kočí, širuj koně,
pojedeme v čiré pole."
Čiré pole projíždžali,
až sa k děvčati dostali.

"Daj nám, děvče, daj nám záloh,
žes na panském trávu žalo!"
Dávala jim svú plachtičku,
pán ju pojal za ručičku.

"Už si, děvče, už si moje,
líbí sa mně líčko tvoje.
Tobě moje a mně tvoje,
líbijá sa nám oboje."

Een meisje ging gras maaien
in de buurt van de wijngaard.
Een landheer zag haar uit de verte
en wenkte door het venster de koetsier.
"Span het paard in,
ik wil het veld in."
Ze reden door het veld
tot bij de kar van het meisje.
"Je bent op mijn land aan het maaien,
ik wil een onderpand!"
Ze gaf haar hoofddoek,
hij nam zachtjes haar hand.
Mooi meisje, hou je van me,
Mooi meisje, je bevalt me, ik zal van je houden.
Je zult mijn heer zijn, ik je vrouw.
Kussen deden de rest.
