der Tag will uns verschleichen.

Selig [sei]2 Tag und Stunde,
darin du bist geborn!
Gott grüß mir dein rot Munde,

Desperta, bella del meu cor,
la meva estimada del cor!
Sento una dolça tonada
dels ocellets del bosc;
els sento cantar tan gràcilment,
que em sembla veure la llum del dia
penetrar fins aquí des del llevant.

Sento cantar els galls
i percebo que s’apropa el dia,
bufa la fresca brisa,
lliures, brillen les estrelles.
El senyor rossinyol ens canta,
ens canta una dolça melodia,
amb aquest so, anuncia el nou dia.

El cel s’acoloreix,
de color blanc es torna blau,
els núvols s’acoloreixen,
de color negre es tornen grisos;
l’aurora vol esmunyir-se;
desperta, amor meu, i allibera’m,
el dia se’ns vol escapar.

Beneït sigui el dia i l’hora
en què tu vas néixer! 
Dono gràcies a Déu per els teus llavis vermells,
que jo vaig escollir.
Mai altres em seran tan estimats,
mira de què no perdi el meu amor,
