Hier wars, in eurer Schattennacht, ihr Linden,
Wo sich zuerst mein Licht mir sichtbar machte;
O lasset nun mich auch die Kühlung sinden
Der Flamme, die in eurem Schooß erwachte:
Führt liebend mir in euren Laubgewinden
Entgegen Sie, nach deren Gruß ich schmachte;
Auf daß ich rühmen kann: Von hier begonnen
Hat erst mein Weh, und dann auch meine Wonnen.
