Wie dunkle Träume stehen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Wie dunkle Träume stehen
Die Häuser in langer Reih;
Tief eingehüllt im Mantel,
Schreite ich schweigend vorbei.

Der Turm der Kathedrale
Verkündet die zwölfte Stund;
Mit ihren Reizen und Küssen
Erwartet mich Liebchen jetzund.

Der Mond ist mein Begleiter,
Er leuchtet mir freundlich vor;
Da bin ich an ihrem Hause,
Und freudig ruf ich empor:

Ich danke dir, alter Vertrauter,
Daß du meinen Weg erhellt;
Jetzt will ich dich entlassen,
Jetzt leuchte der übrigen Welt!

Und findest du einen Verliebten,
Der einsam klagt sein Leid,
So tröst ihn, wie du mich selber
Getröstet in alter Zeit.

Comme d'obscurs rêves
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Comme d'obscurs rêves
Les maisons forment une longue file;
Profondément enveloppé dans mon manteau,
Je passe devant en silence.

La tour de la cathédrale
Annonce la douzième heure;
Avec ses charmes et ses baisers
Ma mignonne m'attend maintenant.

La lune est ma compagne,
Elle éclaire aimablement devant moi;
Me voici à sa maison,
Et gaiement je crie en l'air:

Je te remercie, vieille confidente
D'illuminer mon chemin;
Maintenant je vais te congédier,
Maintenant éclaire le reste du monde!

Et si tu trouves un amoureux,
Qui solitaire exprime sa douleur,
Alors console-le, comme tu m'as moi-même
Consolé aux temps anciens.
