Als teus trets es dibuixa una benaurada tristor: els teus ulls reflecteixen Déu i l’eternitat. Allà conflueixen totes les marees del món i de la vida, àdhuc s’apaguen les brases que per tu em consumeixen. Ajunto les meves mans, pietosament, com mai ho hagués cregut: oh benedicció sense fi al teu estimat cap!
