Så går jeg hen til min moder,
min gamle hellige moder.
Så sagtelig banker jeg på med min stav, -
min moder ligger kun taus i sin grav.
Og stjernerne over mig skinner;

Alors je vais vers ma mère,
ma vieille sainte mère.
Alors doucement je frappe avec mon bâton,
ma mère gît en silence dans sa tombe.
Et au-dessus de moi les étoile brillent ;
