Empor zu dir, zu dir!
Wärmender Liebe Segen
Wunderbar leuchtet mir.
Triefende Zweige schlagen
Sträubend mir ins Gesicht,
Seelig emporgetragen
Spür ich es nicht.
Schleudert stürzende Güsse,
Wolken und Winde, umher!
Liebchens köstliche Küsse
Winken mir wonnenschwer.
Stampfend unter mich alle
Nebel und Nesseln der Welt,
Seh' ich die himmlische Halle
Herrlich erhellt!

En haut vers toi, vers toi !
Une bénédiction d'amour qui réchauffe
M'éclaire merveilleusement.
Des branches ruisselantes me frappent
En se dressant sur mon visage.
Emporté vers le haut par l'émotion
Je ne les sens pas.
La pluie qui s'abat fulmine,
Les nuages et les vents, tout autour !
Des baisers délicieux du bien-aimé
Me font signe pleins de bonheur.
Trépignant tout sous moi,
Le brouillard et les orties du monde,
Je vois le palais céleste
Merveilleusement illuminé !
