Ô vous qui ressemblez à ces tableaux d'église
Où l'on voit, sur fond d'or, l'auguste Charité
Préservant de la faim, préservant de la bise
Un groupe frais et blond dans sa robe abrité ;

Comme le nourrisson de la Mère divine,
Par pitié, laissez-moi monter sur vos genoux,
Moi pauvre jeune fille, isolée, orpheline,
