Visor och sånger vid pianoforte , opus 8

by Jacob Axel Josephson (1818 - 1880)

1. Serenad
 (Sung text)

Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Jorden vilar uti himlen,
alla stjärnor hålla vakt
och en blomsterlund på jorden
slumrar i den stilla prakt;
nu god natt!

Uti lunden där en hydda
tyst i lindars skugga står,
in vid murens dolda fönster
ljuvligt liten fågel står,
Nu god natt, ja nu god natt!

Innanför en flicka slumrar
drömmande om blomstrens prakt.
I dess hjärta vilar himlen,
Alla änglar hålla vakt.
Nu god natt, ja nu god natt!
