Kling' hinaus in's Weite.

Wenn du eine Rose schaust,
Sag' ich lass' sie grüßen.

Kaum in diesen Zitherschlägen 
Darfst du mir lebendig sein.

Alle hat ja seine Blüthe, 
Alles findet ja sein Grab;
Was im Frühlingslicht erglühte,
Fällt im Herbst erkältet ab.

Tausend haben dies gesungen, 
Tausend singen's künftig auch; 
Sei dies Lied denn mit erklungen 
Nach de großen Chores Brauch.
