Wenn durch die Piazetta
Die Abendluft weht,
[Dann]¹ weißt du, Ninetta,
Wer wartend [hier]² steht.
Du weißt, wer trotz Schleier
Und Maske dich kennt,
[Wie Amor die Venus
Am Nachtfirmament.]³

Ein Schifferkleid trag' ich
Zur selbigen Zeit,
Und zitternd dir sag' ich:
„Das Boot [liegt]⁴ bereit!
[O, komm’! jetzt, wo Lune’n]⁵
Noch Wolken umziehn,
Laß durch die Lagunen,
[Mein Leben,]⁶ uns fliehn!“
