Vielfarbenhell,
Leis duftgewiegt und schattengeschützt
Lachen sie her aus grünem Gras;
Ach, wollen sie sterben im Frühlingsglanz?
Ich breche die flammglührote.

Dir, Liebe, geb ich sie, die du still
Im schwarzen Kleide traurig gehst
Zwischen Lautenschlag und blühender Pracht
An deiner Brust aufprange sie hell,

Salue le vert sévère et sombre de l'arbre,
Se trouvent les plus belles fleurs.

De toute nature,
Avec des couleurs claires et variées,
Bercées doucement, parfumées et ombragées,
Elles rient sur le vert gazon ;
Hélas, vont-elles mourir dans l'éclat du printemps ?
Je cueille la rouge flamboyante.

Je te la donne, à toi mon amour qui encore
Va tristement en habits noirs.
Au son du luth et avec sa magnifique floraison
Elle resplendit à ta poitrine,
Le rouge de sa vie enflamme ton cœur,
