og sommerens tid den svinder.
Men høsten - den står der så mild igjen
med alle de deilige minder:
En solskinsdag over sommerløv,
en sang, som risler så stille,
lidt skinnende vand og en sølvlys sky,
en ensomt nynnende kilde,
to blanke øine, et viltert hår,
en [mund, som ler mig imøde]1....
Hvis var de øine, hvis var det hår,
og hvis var de læber røde? -

Et les jours croissent, et les jours passent,
et le temps de l'été disparaît.
Mais l'automne est là, encore si doux
avec tant de délicieux souvenirs :
Un jour ensoleillé par dessus les feuillages d'été,
un chant qui s'écoule si calmement,
une eau brillant un peu et un nage argenté,
une source solitaire qui fredonne,
deux yeux brillants, des cheveux turbulents,
une bouche qui rit vers moi ...
À qui étaient ces yeux, à qui étaient ces cheveux
et à qui était ce rouge à lèvres ?
