Sota el ginebre hi ha un lloc, -- susala – dusala --* on seu la meva estimada. Ella seu damunt l’herba verda, seu damunt el verd trèvol. Tens els ulls molls? Ets com la llet i la neu? susala – dusala --* On et fa mal? Tan tard tornes? Ara és massa tard per a la felicitat. Ja no et reconec. Tinc el cor de través, susala – dusala --* Voldria estar mort! Negre és el sepulcre, viu encara una estona més; espera fins a Santa Caterina, llavors demanaré la teva mà. Espera fins a Sant Martí, llavors serà el casament! susala – dusala --* Resigna’t!

Ich [habe]1 ein kleines Lied erdacht Und [hab']2 es gesungen hinaus in die Nacht, Die Wasser der Muhle rauschten Zwei Vöglein saßen im Lindenbaum, [Verborgen den Kopf im weichen Flaum]3 Und lauschten. Ich weiß nicht, wer es verrathen hat, Der Gießbach oder das Lindenblatt, Der Nachtwind oder die Meise -- Mein Lied von der Herzenskönigin, Heut' sang es die schöne Müllerin Ganz leise.

2. Molt fluixet

He compost una petita cançó i l’he cantat a fora en la nit, l’aigua del molí remorejava, dos ocellets eren al til·ler, amagaven el cap sota el plomissol i escoltaven. No sé qui l’ha donar a conèixer, el torrent o les fulles del til·ler, el vent de la nit o les mallerengues – La meva cançó sobre la reina del meu cor la cantava avui la bella molinera molt fluixet.

Die Erde ruft manch liebes Wort ihr nach. Es rauscht der Baum den letzten Strahl entgegen, Es zieht ihr nach der Nachtigallen Schlag, Als dankten sie für allen ihren Segen.

3. Posta de sol

Ell diu adéu. Tal com l’esguard de comiat de la mare que contempla l’infant amb l’amor més profund, així, amb la llum més formosa, ell saluda la terra quan, hesitant, marxa d’aquí. La terra crida mantes paraules dolces al seu devers. L’arbre remoreja a l’encontre del seu darrer raig, el segueix el cant del rossinyol, com si agraïssin totes les seves benediccions.
