Schneeglöckchen tut läuten:
  Kling -- ling -- ling
Was hat das zu bedeuten? --
  Ei, gar ein lustiges Ding!

Der Frühling heut' geboren ward,
Ein Kind der allerschönsten Art;
Zwar liegt er noch im weißen Bett,
Doch spielt er schon so wundernett,
Herbei, ihr Vöglein, aus dem Süd'
Und bringet neue Lieder mit!
  Ihr Quellen all, 
  Erwacht im Tal!
Was soll das lange Zaudern?
Sollt mit dem Kinde plaudern!

Maiglöckchen tut läuten!
  Bim -- bam -- bam!
Was hat das zu bedeuten?
  Frühling ist Bräutigam:

Macht Hochzeit mit der Erde heut'
Mit großer Pracht und Herrlichkeit.
Wohlauf denn, Nelk' und Tulipan,
Und schwenkt die bunte Hochzeitfahn'!
Du Ros' und Lilie, schmücket euch,
Brautjungfern sollt ihr werden gleich!
  Ihr Schmetterling'  
  Sollt bunt und flink
Den Hochzeitreigen führen,
Die Vögel musiciren!

Avui la primavera ha nascut,
un infant de l’espècie més formosa;
tot i que encara jau en un llit blanc,
ja juga tan meravellosament,
veniu doncs, vosaltres, els ocells del sud
i porteu noves cançons!
Vosaltres fonts, totes,
desperteu-vos a la vall!
Per què vacil•leu encara?
Heu de parlar amb el petit infant!

Tritllegen els lliris de maig!
Bim – bam – bam!
Què vol dir això?
Es casa la primavera:

Avui se celebra el seu casament amb la terra,
amb gran pompa i solemnitat.
Vinga doncs, clavells i tulipes,
brandeu les acolorides banderes de noces!
Vosaltres, roses i lliris, orneu-vos,
aviat heu de ser les donzelles d’honor!
Vosaltres papallones,
virolades i lleugeres,
heu de dirigir la dansa nupcial
i els ocells han de fer la música!

Ein Alphorn hör' ich schallen,
Das mich von hinnen ruft;
Tönt es aus wald'gen Hallen,
Tönt es aus blauer Luft?
Tönt es von Bergeshöhe,
Aus blumenreichem Tal?
Wo ich nur geh' und stehe,
Hör' ich's in süßer Qual.
 
Bei Spiel und frohem Reigen,
Einsam mit mir allein,
Tönt's, ohne je zu schweigen,
Tönt tief in's Herz hinein.
Noch nie hab' ich gefunden
Den Ort, woher es schallt,
Und nimmer wird gesunden
Dies Herz, bis es verhallt.

Sento ressonar un corn dels Alps
que d’allà lluny em crida:
ressona des de les arbredes del bosc,
ressona des del cel blau?
Ressona des dels cims de les muntanyes,
de les valls florides?
Arreu on sóc i on vaig
el sento amb un dolç turment.

En els jocs, en les alegres danses,
o tot sol amb mi,
ressona sense mai callar,
ressona al fons del meu cor.
Encara mai he trobat el lloc
des d’on ve aquest so,
i mai guarirà aquest cor
fins que deixi de sonar.
