Holder Lenz, du bist dahin! Nirgends, nirgends darfst du bleiben! Wo ich sah dein frohes Blühn, Braust des Herbstes banges Treiben. Wie der Wind so traurig fuhr Durch den Strauch, als ob er weine; Sterbeseufzer der Natur Schauern durch die welken Haine. Wieder ist, wie bald! wie bald! Mir ein Jahr dahingeschwunden. Fragend rauscht es aus dem Wald: "Hat dein Herz sein Glück gefunden?" Waldesrauschen, wunderbar Hast du mir das Herz getroffen! Treulich bringt ein jedes Jahr Neues Laub wie neues Hoffen.

Primavera encisadora, has marxat! Enlloc, enlloc, pots tu restar! Allà on veié el teu alegre florejar, ara bramula l'angoixant tumult de la tardor. Com n'és de trist el vent que bufa a través dels matolls, com si plorés; sospir moribund de la natura tremolant per els boscatges marcits. Que aviat! Que aviat! Ha passat un altre any. La remor del bosc pregunta: "El teu cor ha trobat la benaurança?" Meravellosa fressa dels boscos m'has colpit el cor! Cada any porta fidelment fulles seques i esperances marcides.
