Und überrindet Winterszeit.

Das freut euch, Gute; freuet euch!
Ist Alles doch dem Todten gleich.

Doch nein, - denn eure Liebe spannt
Die Aeste in das Geisterland:

Aan de vrienden

In 't  bos, in 't bos, heel stil alleen,
Begraaf mij, zonder kruis en steen;
Want wat je 'r op zet raakt besneeuwd
En door de winter overspeeld.
 
En als de aarde jeugd herwint,
Met bloemen weer mijn heuvel tint,
Verheug je, (mijn) vrienden, en geniet!
Dit alles raakt de dode niet.
 
Maar neen, want jullie liefde spant
Haar takken tot in 't geestenland,
En wat je voert hier naar mijn graf
Trekt mij nog sterker daar van af.
