Die Sennin
(Sung text for setting by R. Schumann)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT DUT ENG FRE ITA
Schöne Sennin, noch einmal
Singe deinen Ruf in's Thal,
Daß die frohe Felsensprache
Deinem hellen Ruf erwache.

Horch, o Sennin, wie dein Sang
In die Brust den Bergen drang,
Wie dein Wort die Felsenseelen
Freudig fort und fort erzählen!

Aber einst, wie Alles flieht,
Scheidest du mit deinem Lied,
Wenn dich Liebe fortbewogen,
Oder dich der Tod entzogen.

Und verlassen werden stehn,
Traurig stumm herübersehn
Dort die grauen Felsenzinnen
Und auf deine Lieder sinnen.

La pastora
(Sung text translation for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Bella pastora, ancora una volta
la tua bella voce nella valle risuona,
in modo che l'eco dei monti, lieta,
il tuo richiamo pronta ripeta!

Ascolta, pastora, come il tuo canto
nella montagna penetra in in fondo,
come la pietra la tua parola
felice ripete, e ancora, e ancora!

Ma un giorno questo apparterrà al passato
ed il tuo canto ormai sarà muto,
forse l'amore ti avrà preso per mano
o sarà la morte a portarti lontano.

E noi resteremo solitari e in silenzio,
con occhi tristi, guardando là in alto
verso le grigie cime dei monti
pensando ancora ai dolci tuoi canti.
