Растворил я окно - стало dushno не в мочь, -
    опустился пред ним на колени,
и в лицо мне пахнула весенняя ночь
    благовонным дыханьем сирени.

А вдали где-то чудно zapel соловей;
    я внимал ему с грустью глубокой...
И с тоскою о родине вспомнил своей;
    об отчизне я вспомнил далекой,

Где родной соловей песнь родную поёт
    и, не зная земных огорчений,
заливается целую ночь напролёт
    над душистою веткой сирени...

Et quelque part au loin un rossignol chanta ;
  Je l'écoutais avec une profonde tristesse...
Et je pensais tristement à ma patrie ;
  Je me rappelais ma lointaine patrie,

Où le rossignol de la maison chante un chant de mon pays natal,
  Et ne connaissant pas les afflictions terrestres,
Il chante toute la nuit d'affilée,
  Sur la branche parfumée du lilas...
