Die Wälder nur sich leise neigen,
Als ging' der Herr durchs stille Feld.

Ich fühl mich recht wie neu geschaffen,
Wo ist die Sorge nun und Not?
Was mich noch gestern wollt' erschlaffen,
Ich schäm' mich dess im Morgenrot.

Die Welt mit ihrem Gram und Glücke
Will ich, ein Pilger, frohbereit
Betreten nur wie eine Brücke
Zu dir, Herr, übern Strom der Zeit.

De bossen enkel zachtjes nijgen,
Als ging de Heer door 't stille land.

Ik voel mij echt als nieuw geboren,
Waar zijn de zorgen, waar de nood?
Waardoor 'k mij gist'ren liet bekoren,
Daar schaam 'k mij voor in 't morgenrood.

De wereld met haar pech en prijzen
Ben ik, als pelgrim, graag bereid,
Te zien slechts als een brug voor 't reizen
