2 Sit nomen Domini benedictum
  ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.
3 A solis ortu usque ad occasum
  laudabile nomen Domini.
4 Excelsus super omnes gentes Dominus,
   ...  super caelos gloria eius.
5 Quis sicut Dominus Deus noster,
  qui in altis habitat,
6 Et humilia respicit 
  in caelo et in terra?
7 Suscitans a terra inopem, 
  et de stercore erigens pauperem :
8 Ut collocet eum cum principibus, 
  cum principibus populi sui.
9 Qui habitare facit sterilem in domo, 
  matrem filiorum lætantem.

 Looft gij knechten,
 de Heer,
 looft de naam van de Heer.
 De naam van de Heer zal geprezen zijn van nu tot in eeuwigheid.
 Van zonsopgang tot zonsondergang is de naam van de Heer geloofd.
 De Heer is hoog boven alle heidenen, boven de hemelen is zijn heerlijkheid.
 Wie is gelijk aan de Heer onze God, die verheven woont, die neerziet, in de 
 hemel en op de aarde?
 Die de minsten uit het stof opricht en de behoeftige uit de drek optilt,
 om te doen zitten bij de eersten van zijn volk.
 Die de onvruchtbare een thuis geeft,
 een moeder met kinderen gelukkig maakt.
