 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Czech (Čeština)
Knabe, dir gefiel die duftige Rose,
Als sie glühend hing am grünen Strauch,
Aufgeküßt vom warmen Sonnenstrahle,
Rothgeküßt vom warmen Frühlingshauch.

Und mit Schmeicheln hast du sie gebrochen,
Statt geliebt, verlassen sie darauf, -- --
Ach, wer hebt die hingeworfene Rose,
Die am Boden liegt verwelkend, auf?
