Du bist die Ruh,
Der Friede mild,
Die Sehnsucht du,
Und was sie stillt.
Ich weihe dir
Voll Lust und Schmerz
Zur Wohnung hier
Mein Aug' und Herz.
Kehr' bei mir ein,
Und schließe du
Still hinter dir
Die Pforten zu.
Treib andern Schmerz
Aus dieser Brust.
Voll sey dies Herz
Voll deiner Lust.

An scíth is tú
An tsíocháin shéimh,
Is tú an tnúth
Is ina dhéidh.
Is beannaím thú
Le sult is crá
Cuir fút im bhrú,
Im shúil, im lár.
Bí liom, a mhian
Is dún go ciúin
Na geat’ id dhiaidh
Go ciúin, a rún.
Is ruaig ar fán
An uile phian:
Mo chroíse lán
Go barr ded’ mhian.
