Das Zauberland
 (Sung text for setting by J. Grill)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT DUT ENG FIN FRE GRE HEB ITA SPA
Aus alten Märchen winkt es
Hervor mit weißer Hand,
Da singt es und da klingt es
Von einem Zauberland;

Wo bunte Blumen blühen
Im gold'nen Abendlicht,
Und lieblich duftend glühen,
Mit bräutlichem Gesicht;

Und grüne Bäume singen
Uralte Melodei'n,
Die Lüfte heimlich klingen,
Und Vögel schmettern drein;

Und Nebelbilder steigen
Wohl aus der Erd' hervor,
Und tanzen lust'gen Reigen
Im wunderlichen Chor;

Und blaue Funken brennen
Auf jedem Blatt und Reis,
Und rote Lichter brennen
Im irren, wirren Kreis;

Und laute Quellen brechen
Aus wildem Marmorstein.
Und seltsam in den Bächen
Strahlt fort der Widerschein.

Ach, könnt' ich dorthin kommen,
Und dort mein Herz erfreu'n,
Und aller Qual entnommen,
Und frei und selig sein!

Des anciens contes, me fait signe
 (Sung text translation for setting by J. Grill)
 See original
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Des anciens contes, me fait signe
Une blanche main,
Des chants et des mélodies s'élèvent
D'un pays enchanté ;

Là des fleurs multicolores s'épanouissent
Dans la lumière dorée du soir,
Et resplendissent, odorantes et charmantes
Avec leur visage de fiancée ;

Et les arbres verts chantent
Des mélodies immémoriales,
Les zéphirs furtifs bruissent,
Et les oiseaux y volettent ;

Et des images nébuleuses s'élèvent,
Émergeant de la terre,
Et dansent une ronde aérienne
Sur un chœur fantasque ;

Et des étincelles bleues scintillent
Sur chaque feuille et chaque rameau,
Et des lumières rouges courent
En cercles fous et confus ;

Et des sources sonores déferlent
Jaillissant du marbre brut.
Et dans les ruisseaux persistent
D'étranges reflets.

Ah, puissé-je aller là-bas,
Et y réjouir là-bas mon cœur,
Et puiser à toutes les sources,
Et être libre et bienheureux !
