from Volkslieder (Folksongs)
Translation by Paul Heyse (1830 - 1914)

E voi mi domandate in cortesia
Language: Italian (Italiano)
E voi mi domandate in cortesia

(Sung text for setting by J. Marx)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Italian (Italiano)
Our translations:  ENG FRE

In a footnote to Line 5 Heyse informs readers that "Nena" is a short form of "Maddalena" ("Abkürzung von Maddalena").
