Du Ring an meinem Finger
(Sung text for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT CHI DAN DUT ENG ENG FRE HEB ITA NOR POR RUS
Du Ring an meinem Finger,
  Mein goldenes Ringelein,
Ich drücke dich fromm an die Lippen,
Dich fromm an das Herze mein.

Ich hatt' ihn ausgeträumet,
  Der Kindheit friedlich schönen Traum,
Ich fand allein mich, verloren
  Im öden, unendlichen Raum.

Du Ring an meinem Finger,
Da hast du mich erst belehrt,
Hast meinem Blick erschlossen
  Des Lebens unendlichen, tiefen Wert.

Ich will ihm dienen, ihm leben,
  Ihm angehören ganz,
Hin selber mich geben und finden
  Verklärt mich in seinem Glanz.

Du Ring an meinem Finger,
  Mein goldenes Ringelein,
Ich drücke dich fromm an die Lippen,
Dich fromm an das Herze mein.
Modernized spelling would change "Werth" to "Wert"

Toi, anneau à mon doigt
(Sung text translation for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Toi, anneau à mon doigt,
Mon petit anneau d'or,
Je te presse pieusement sur mes lèvres,
Pieusement sur mon cœur.

Il s'était évanoui,
Le beau rêve paisible de l'enfance,
Je me trouvais seule, perdue,
En un lieu désolé et sans fin.

Toi, anneau à mon doigt,
Alors, tu m'as enseigné,
Tu m'as fait voir,
La profonde et infinie valeur de la vie.

Je veux le servir, vivre pour lui,
Lui appartenir toute entière,
Me donner moi‑même, et me trouver
Transfigurée par sa lumière,

Toi, anneau à mon doigt,
Mon petit anneau d'or,
Je te presse pieusement sur mes lèvres,
Pieusement sur mon cœur.
