Liebeslied
 (Sung text for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Dir zu eröffnen
mein Herz verlangt mich;
Hört' ich von deinem,
darnach verlangt mich;
Wie blickt so traurig
die Welt mich an!

In meinem Sinne
wohnet mein Freund nur,
Und sonsten keiner
und keine Feindesspur.
Wie Sonnenaufgang
ward mir ein Vorsatz!

Mein Leben will ich
nur zum Geschäfte
Von seiner Liebe
Machen.
Ich denke seiner,
mir blutet das Herz.

Kraft hab' ich keine
als ihn zu lieben,
So recht im Stillen.
Was soll das werden!
Will ihn umarmen
und kann es nicht.

Liefdeslied
 (Sung text translation for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Jou te ontsluiten
Mijn hart, verlang ik;
Hoord' ik van 't jouwe,
Daarnaar verlang ik;
Wat kijkt mij treurig
De wereld aan!

In mijn gedachten
Leeft nu mijn vriend slechts,
En anders niemand,
En niemands minnenijd.
Alsof de zon kwam
Werd het mij duid'lijk!

Mijn leven wil ik
Steeds en uitsluitend
Aan hem in liefde
Wijden.
Ik denk aan hem steeds,
Al bloedt mij het hart!.

Niets anders kan ik
Dan hem beminnen,
Volstrekt in stilte.
Wat moet dat worden!
'k Wil hem omarmen
En kan het niet.
