Ihn dürstet sehr,
Nun noch viel mehr:
Nur hin! Wer würde säumen!
Da ist die Flut!
O, in der Glut,
Was kann so köstlich blinken!
Er schöpft und trinkt,
Er stürzt und sinkt
Und trinkt noch im Versinken!

le garçon descend

Dans la forêts de pins
il s'arrête,
Il peut à peine se traîner plus loin.
Soudain il voit
un ruisseau sauvage
Écumant en bas dans la vallée ;
Maintenant il a
de plus en plus soif :
En avant ! Qui pourrait attendre ?
Il y a de l'eau !
Oh, dans cette chaleur,
Qu'est-ce qui pourrait briller de manière si exquise !
Il puise de l'eau et boit,
il chute et coule
Et il boit encore en s'enfonçant !
