Der Frühlingslandschaft zitternd Bildnis schwebt
        Hell in des Stromes Blau.

Schön ist der Felsenquell, der Blütenbaum,
        Der Hain mit Gold bemalt;
Schön ist der Stern des Abends, der am Saum
        Der Purpurwolke strahlt!

Schön ist der Wiese Grün, des Tals Gesträuch,
        Des Hügels Blumenkleid;
Der Erlenbach, der schilfumkränzte Teich,
        Mit Blüthen überschneit!

O wie umschlingt und hält der Wesen Heer
        Der ew'gen Liebe Band!
Den Lichtwurm und der Sonne Feuermeer
        Schuf eine Vaterhand.

Du winkst, Allmächtiger, wenn hier dem Baum

Le soir de printemps

L'image tremblante du paysage de printemps plane,
    Claire, dans le bleu du fleuve.

Belle est la source du rocher, et l'arbre en fleur,
    Le bois avec leurs teintes d'or ;
Belle est l'étoile du soir qui brille
    À la lisière du nuage d'or !

Belle est la verdure de la prairie, et les buissons de la vallée,
    L'habit de fleurs de la colline ;
Le ruisseau aux aulnes, l'étang bordé de roseaux,
    Enneigé de fleurs !

Ô comme l'éternel orchestre d'amour
    De la multitude de la nature nous entoure et nous maintient !
Le vert luisant et la mer de feu du soleil
