Och finns det en tanke, som dröjer hos mig
när äntligt min timme är slagen,
så skulle den bygga min sista stig
av toner, som bure ett eko i sig
från skogen och sommardagen.

På tonernas brygga jag dröjande gick
i sällsamma drömmar dit över,
av sommar och solsken och böljor jag fick
en sista, förstående avskedsblick,
en sådan, som bäst jag behöver.

Et s'il existait une pensée qui resterait en moi
lorsque mon heure enfin sonnera,
Elle composerait mon dernier chemin
de notes qui porteraient en elles l'écho
des forêts et des jours d'été.

Sur le pont de ces notes,  en m'attardant je passerais
de l'autre côté dans un étrange rêve,
de l'été, du soleil et des vagues je recevrais
un bienveillant et dernier signe d'adieu,
un de ceux dont j'ai le plus besoin.
