In deinen Lieder lebt mein Leben,
Durch meine Lieder strömt dein Blut.
Ein unerschöpftes Nehmen, Geben
Und eine unerschöpfte Glut.

Ein Lächeln nur und nur ein Leiden,
Du bist in mir und ich in dir.
Und kommt das Glück, es winkt uns beiden,
Und keiner bettelt: Komm zu mir!

Und wenn mein Blick vom letzten Ziele
Ins fremde Land hinüberrinnt,
Du fühlst es mit, wie ich es fühle,
Weil wir so ganz verkettet sind.

En les teves cançons viu la meva vida,
la teva sang circula per les meves cançons.
Un inesgotable rebre, donar,
i una inexhaurible ardor.

Només un somriure i només un patiment,
jo estic a dins teu i tu a dintre meu.
I quan ve la felicitat, ens fa senyals a tots dos,
i ningú mendica: vine cap a mi!

I quan el meu esguard, de la darrera fita,
s’evadeix cap a terra estranya,
tu ho sents com jo ho sento,
perquè estem del tot encadenats.
