Lo spazzacamino
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Our translations:  CAT ENG FRE GER RUS
Lo spazzacamin!

Son d'aspetto brutto e nero,
Tingo ognun che mi vien presso;
Sono d'abiti mal messo,
Sempre scalzo intorno io vo.

Ah! di me chi sia più lieto
Sulla terra dir non so.
	          Spazzacamin!
Signori, signore, lo spazzacamin
Vi salva dal fuoco per pochi quattrin.

Io mi levo innanzi al sole
E di tutta la cittade
Col mio grido empio le strade
E nemico alcun non ho.

Ah, di me chi sia più lieto (ecc.)

Talor m'alzo sovra i tetti,
Talor vado per le sale;
Col mio nome i fanciulletti
Timorosi e quieti io fo.

Ah, di me chi sia più lieto (ecc.)

Der Schornsteinfeger
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Italian (Italiano)
Der Schornsteinfeger!

Hässlich und schwarz mag ich wohl wirken,
ich mache jeden schwarz, der mir nahe kommt.
Ich bin nicht nobel angezogen
und immer barfuß unterwegs.

Na! Wer wär’ wohl glücklicher als ich
auf Erden - ich weiß es nicht!
         Schornsteinfeger!
Herren und Damen, der Schornsteinfeger
schützt Sie vor Feuer für wenig Geld.

Vor Sonnenaufgang steh ich auf,
und im ganzen Städtchen
erfüll’ ich die Straßen mit meinem Geschrei,
und Feinde habe ich keine.

Na! Wer wär’ wohl glücklicher als ich...

Mal steig’ ich aufs Dach,
mal geh’ ich durchs Haus;
mit meinem Namen mach’ ich
den kleinen Kindern Bange; sie werden ganz still.

Na! Wer wär’ wohl glücklicher als ich...
