Die Wüste
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): ENG

The desert
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The desert! The desert!
Tortures my spirit with its yellow hues!
I do not want to, I must not reconcile myself
With the desert, the desert.
[The desert] has known the sea and has scorned it,
It has contemplated the sun far too long,
Now it is pale, such that its gorge is languishing.
You desert! You desert!
When shall the blood in your veins cool?
When shall your sand churn along the way to the sea?
You desert! You desert!
