Neppure un fiore è in boccio; appena un po’ di verde gelato ammicca nel manto argenteo della neve. Soltanto la mia finestra è piena dei fiorellini rossi e bianchi che spuntano dal giaccio. E, ahimè, nessun canto d’uccello echeggia con nota gioiosa, ma solo il gorgheggio smorzato di piccole cinciallegre che frullano al davanzale implorando cibo. Il canto nuziale tace nella macchia dove gli uccellini, appena poco fa, nell’ombra verdeggiante avevano i loro nidi. Il cantico d’amore fugge dalla fratta e si concentra dentro la mia stanza. Freddo gennaio, io qui a dire il vero, intento ai giochi di Venere, non sentirò il tuo gelo. Puoi durare per sempre, se vuoi, freddo gennaio!
