Dornröschen

Im tiefen Wald im Dornenhag,
da schläft die Jungfrau hundert Jahr,
es schläft die Flieg an der Wand,
in dem Schloß
Hund und Roß,
es schläft wohl auf dem Herd der Brand.

Der Ritter zog sein Schwert da frisch
und hieb sich ab das Dorngebüsch,
und ging hinein ins Königshaus,
ins Kämmerlein
zum Bettelein,
küßt auf den Mund die schlafende Braut.

Da wacht das schöne Mägdelein,
schenkt ihm ir feines Ringelein,
die Flieg erwachet an der Wand,
in dem Schloß
Hund und Roß,
auf dem Herd erwacht der Feuerbrand.

Doornroosje

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Diep in het woud in ’n doornenhaag,
Daar slaapt de jonkvrouw honderd jaar;
Ook slaapt de vlieg aan de muur,
Ook uiteraard
Hond en paard,
En in de haard slaapt ook het vuur.
 
De ridder trok zijn zwaard al ras
En kapte weg het doorngewas,
Hij vond zijn weg naar 't koningshuis,
Naar ’t slaapvertrek,
Naar ’t kleine bed,
Kust’ op de mond de slapende bruid.
 
Wakker wordt dan de lieveling,
Schenkt hem terstond haar fijne ring,
De vlieg wordt wakker aan de muur,
Ook uiteraard
Hond en paard,
In de haard wordt wakker ’t smeulende  vuur.
