Schon ins Land der Pyramiden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Schon ins Land der Pyramiden
Flohn die Störche übers Meer;
Schwalbenflug ist längst geschieden,
Auch die Lerche singt nicht mehr.

Seufzend in geheimer Klage
Streift der Wind das letzte Grün;
Und die süßen Sommertage,
Ach, sie sind dahin, dahin!

Nebel hat den Wald verschlungen,
Der dein stillstes Glück gesehn;
Ganz in Duft und Dämmerungen
Will die schöne Welt vergehn.

Nur noch einmal bricht die Sonne
Unaufhaltsam durch den Duft,
Und ein Strahl der alten Wonne
Rieselt über Tal und Kluft.

Und es leuchten Wald und Heide,
Daß man sicher glauben mag,
Hinter allem Winterleide
Lieg' ein ferner Frühlingstag.

Déjà au pays des pyramides
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Déjà au pays des pyramides
Les cigognes survolent la mer ;
Les bandes d'hirondelles sont depuis longtemps parties,
Et l'alouette ne chante plus.

Soufflant une plainte secrète,
Le vent caresse les dernières verdures ;
Et les douces journées d'été
Se sont hélas enfuies, enfuies !

Le brouillard a avalé la forêt
Qui a vu ton bonheur le plus secret ;
Enfoui sous les vapeurs et le crépuscule
La belle terre va disparaître.

Juste encore une fois le soleil
Perce infatigablement ces vapeurs
Et un rayon du bonheur passé
Ruisselle sur vallées et abîmes.

Et comme forêt et lande s'éclairent,
L'on peut tenir pour certain
Que derrière tous les maux de l'hiver,
Se trouve un lointain jour de printemps.
