Das Lied des Aussätzigen

Our translations:  FRE
Sieh, ich bin einer, den alles verlassen hat.
Keiner weiß in der Stadt von mir,
Aussatz hat mich befallen.
Und ich schlage mein Klapperwerk,
klopfe mein trauriges Augenmerk
in die Ohren allen,
die nahe vorübergehn.
Und die es hölzern hören, sehn
erst gar nicht her, und was hier geschehn,
wollen sie nicht erfahren.
 
Soweit der Klang meiner Klapper reicht,
bin ich zuhause; aber vielleicht
machst du meine Klapper so laut,
daß sich keiner in meine Ferne traut,
der mir jetzt aus der Nähe weicht.
So daß ich sehr lange gehen kann,
ohne Mädchen, Frau oder Mann
oder Kind zu entdecken.
 
Tiere will ich nicht schrecken.

Vois, je suis quelqu'un que tout a abandonné.
Personne dans la ville n'a entendu parler de moi
je suis atteint de la lèpre.
J'agite ma crécelle
et mon triste avertissement
frappe les oreilles de tous ceux
qui passent à proximité.
Et ceux qui entendent ce bruit de bois, d'abord
ne regardent même pas par là, et ce qui se passe ici,
ils ne veulent pas le savoir.

Aussi loin que porte le son de ma crécelle,
je suis chez moi ; mais peut-être
ma crécelle peut-t-elle faire tant de bruit
que personne loin de moi n'a besoin de se fier
à ceux d'à côté qui maintenant m'évitent.
De sorte que je peux marcher très longtemps
sans voir fille, femme ou homme,
ou enfant.

Je ne veux pas effrayer les animaux.
