Am Himmel ist kein Weg
Zu wandeln für die Sterne,
Es überbrückt kein Steg
Die grenzenlose Ferne.

Gewaltig hingebannt
In ihre ew'gen Kreise,
Des Zieles unbekannt,
Vollenden sie die Reise.

So hat mich das Geschick
Die dunkle Bahn getrieben,
Ich frage nicht nach Glück,
Ich bin und muß dich lieben.
