Miten miellyttävältä tuntui kotilieden hehku, kun hän lepäsi käsivarsillani! Täällä, missä liekkien synkkä hehku voi, leikkii vain aseiden pinnoilla, täällä sydän tuntee olevansa aivan yksin, surun ja tuskan kyynel pusertuu esille. Sydän! Kunpa et menettäisi toivoa!
