He trobat un rierol prou lluny de la ciutat, i allà he passat moltes hores en tranquil•la solitud. He escollit el mateix lloc a la molsa fresca; sec allà, i em cauen llàgrimes a la falda. Per tu, tan sols per tu, bull la meva sang jovenívola; però, només fluixet ressona el teu nom en aquest corrent. Tinc por que em traeixi un espió de la ciutat; m’espanta la fressa que fa cada fulla del pollancre. Desitjo retornar a aquell gaudi fugaç; a cada moment sento el bes de comiat. Això em fa feliç i angoixada, com si els teus braços m’estrenyessin, com si encara per la meva galta, caigués la teva darrera llàgrima! Des del meu tossal florit et seguiren molt de temps els meus ulls; voldria tenir ales com el petit colom a la teulada; Ara crec que em puc morir en qualsevol moment. Si vols reveure la teva estimada, torna aviat!
