Laßt die Rose, Eros' Blume,
Zu Lyäen sich gesellen;
Mit der Rose Zier die Schläfe
Kränzend, lasset uns den Becher
Leeren unter milden Scherzen!
Rose heißt die schönste Blume,
Rose heißt des Lenzes Schoßkind,
Rosen flicht der Sohn Kytheres
Um die gelben Ringelhaare,
Mit den Chariten zu tanzen.
Kränze, Bakchos, mich mit Rosen,
Und ich will, die Laute rührend,
Mit dem zierlichsten der Mädchen,
Deinen Kranz auf meinem Haupte,
Froh bei deinem Tempel tanzen.
